Obituary of Sally A. VanHorn

Sally A. VanHorn, 72, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at St Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY.

Sally was born on October 1, 1951 to the late Ernest Farhart and Vera Rulison Farhart of Gloversville.

Sally attended local schools and went on to be a devoted homemaker. She was united in marriage to Mr. Nathan VanHorn Sr. who passed away suddenly in 1992.

In her spare time she enjoyed camping, and going to casinos. More than anything Sally enjoyed spending time with her family, her dog Lucy, and her birds.

She is survived by her sons Nathan VanHorn Jr. (Casey) of Mayfield, and Jonathan VanHorn of Mayfield; daughters Sally Ambrosino of Dolgeville and Patricia Stanton (Jerry) of Mayfield, and son-in-law Jesse Stanton, as well as her brother Ernest Farhart (Suzanne) of Mayfield. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Brittany Ambrosino and Brooke Boyer, James and Dillon Stanton, Nathan III, Rylee and Brayden VanHorn, and Jonathan VanHorn; great grandchildren Teigan, Gionni, Lucus, Jordan, and Allie. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as her beloved dog Lucy.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Nathan VanHorn Sr., sister Robin Naish, brother-in-law Bill Naish, and her grandson Zachary Ambrosino who passed away in 2022

Calling Hours will take place on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Sally will be laid to rest with her husband Nathan on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville.
